A superior cotton duck woven in Switzerland with thick four-ply recycled cotton yarns. At 400gsm it is woven dense enough to be water resistant (but not water proof) and a F0/C0/PFC-free/PFOA-free/fluorocarbon-free DWR helps as well. Ventile was invented in WW2 Britain and is pretty much the pinnacle of cotton as performance fabric. Contemporary membrane based fabrics are far more waterproof, but Ventile is 100% cotton, its performance is grown in the soil and perfected on the loom. This particular 400gsm version takes it into the 21st century by using recycled yarns. Recycled cotton by it’s nature has shorter staples than the extra long staple cottons generally used to make Ventile, but by spinning it into thick Ne 20/4 yarns, it can be made strong enough to make a fabric worthy of the name.

This is a fabric for people ready to put in the work. Out the gate it is a dense and structured canvas, but over time and action it breaks in like.... well actually that’s on you, put in the muscle and grind and it will break in beautifully, sit on your ass doing nothing and we can’t promise you anything.
