Description

A deeper linen (+cotton) towel experiment. Linen for that "precise dry" feeling and long hang life. Cotton for that extra plushness and easy washing. Woven in deep waffle pattern to maximize surface area and dry speed. At 330gsm it is 65% heavier than our Grid Linen towels but much lighter than most cotton terry towels.

Fabric Story

A deep latticework of linen and cotton woven together to create an open yet dimensional fabric that we find perfect for house towels. At 330gsm it is 65% heavier than our Grid Linen, but at 43% Linen and 57% cotton, the composition is quite different and far better suited for a life indoors.

Linen is a fantastic towel fiber for a few reasons. Most importantly it can absorb moisture while staying dry to the touch creating a great toweling off feel. It also dries quickly and resists mildew and mold, allowing for longer use periods. Finally it sheds debris like sand with ease, which is more important outside the house than in, but still a nice feature. There are two weaknesses to linen as a towel fabric though. One, it can be quite linty, especially at heavier weights; and two, it is stiffer than cotton so you don't get big lofty fluffy effects. In lightweight towels optimized for traveling this is not a big issue, but to make a great house towel we found the best results came from mixing linen and cotton together.

At 330gsm this is very much a midweight towel fabric. It will never be as plush as a heavy pure cotton terry but has a nice depth and cushion to it. At 43% linen there is lots of linen to soak up the moisture and retain the sort of "precise dry" toweling experience. But the cotton keeps things clean in the wash and creates a soft and dimensional handfeel.
