Fabric Story

The original ultramicrofiber non-woven fabric and still the best. Invented in the early 1970’s by Toray in Japan, Ultrasuede is made with polyester microfibers that are so extraordinarily fine that a single gram of fiber stretches over 900km. These fibers are combined with polyurethane foam via a complex process reminiscent of needle punching to create a synthetic suede that is actually dramatically better for most purposes than the original. The resulting fabric is both extremely soft and easy to care for yet as tough as leather.

The Ultrasuede HP grade weighs 380gsm, is 1mm thick and incorporates a skrim to prevent it from stretching out or tearing.
