Fabric Story

A cool take on cashmere, a study in contrasts, an injection of the subtlest warmth. Cashmere inverted into a super lightweight and breezy fabric.

The Cash Injection is built around the same rarified warp-knit, weft-insertion process that we make Injected Linen with. Made in Japan on a specialized warp knitting machine the process creates a fabric that is technically a knit but utilizes very woven like elements but ultimately is something new entirely.

The warp consists of long knit columns of fine polyester in a daisy chain like structure. The weft insertion is a beautiful soft cashmere. The result behaves a lot like a woven fabric with one key difference. In wovens the weft yarn constantly weave up and down over the warp yarns, in a warp-knit, weft-insertion process the weft yarns are completely flat, with the warp knit wrapping around each one. This allows for fabrics are extremely light and breezy while staying more opaque than a comparable weight of a woven fabric. With the Cash Injection the fabric is super light at 115gsm so it's still a bit translucent but still quite wearable.
